Hello, my name is Giuseppe Labriola and I am enormously proud to be the associate director of midwifery and nursing at Newham University Hospital. It is a very exciting time for our Maternity Services at Newham University Hospital part of Barts Health NHS Trust, providing maternity care to women and families from the local population and surrounding areas. Come and join our midwifery team as we rise to meet the challenges of today’s changing maternity climate.
In the community we follow the women from 16/40 antenatal appointment through to the postnatal period with a view to start booking our women in line with the Better Births Agenda for Continuity of Carer. You will gain a true sense of autonomy whilst building therapeutic relationships with the women. This will also involve working alongside the multidisciplinary team to plan and support women’s care and her choices. This may include creating individualised plans for women whose births choices may fall outside guidelines. You will be working in small teams that will provide women centred safe care according to their individual needs with the opportunity to develop and work in a case loading model of care for women and families.
We have organised aVirtual Recruitment Open DayonFriday 07th of April from 10:00-13:00to give you moreinformation about our community services. This will give you the opportunity to meet our community teams, consultant midwives and midwifery managers, and ask them any questions you might have regarding the role.

We are looking for Midwives to join our Integrated Community Midwifery team who are highly motivated midwives who have a passion and commitment to provide high quality care for women, enabling them to have a positive pregnancy and birth experience.
Registered midwife, with a minimum of one year’s post registration experience.
Possess appropriate clinical skills and knowledge with evidence of personal and professional development that will support the registered midwife role.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexibility and willingness to participate in developing new working practices to ensure the provision of high standards of holistic care for women within your sphere of responsibility.
Be able to undertake on call commitments.
Ensures high quality and safe care for women and families accessing the service.
Supporting the Team Leader in achieving good working environment for staff and promote innovation within women service.
